FlowerPower Posted by: youk0so
Video duration: 29 seconds This little BEAM bot uses a solar panel to charge its capacitor to 3 volts, then a transistor releases the power and the engine spins, and so on. Related: beam, bot, flower, solar |

SOB Posted by: youk0so
Video duration: 24 seconds Sob was my first solar becon, he is charging 2 x 1F capacitors as long as there is enough light to produce power. When the solar panel no longer delivers power a transistor activates the circuit and the green LED is turned on. He can light up the night for a few hours at most. Related: beam, becon, bot, solar |

Solar Becon 3 Posted by: youk0so
Video duration: 20 seconds This solar becon uses a 74AC240 microchip to control the charging and power output. In daylight it charges the battery and when it gets dark the battery charges a 3300 capacitor. The chip takes power from the capacitor to light up the LED, creating a pumming or fading effect as the capacitor is emptied and then recharged by the battery. Related: 74ac240, beam, bot, solar |

Solar Becon 2 Posted by: youk0so
Video duration: 15 seconds This solar becon uses a 74AC240 microchip to control the charging and power output. In daylight it charges the battery and when it gets dark the battery charges a 2200 capacitor. The chip takes power from the capacitor to light up the LED, creating a pumming or fading effect as the capacitor is emptied and then recharged by the battery. Solar Becon 1 Posted by: youk0so
Video duration: 17 seconds This little BEAM bot uses a solar panel to charge a 1F capacitor as long as there is light in the room. When it gets dark a transistor activates the circuit and the green flashing LED is turned on. Related: beam, becon, bot, solar |

Small Solar Flower Posted by: youk0so
Video duration: 25 seconds This small flower uses two solar cells and a CD-rom engine to rotate its head a bit everytime the golden capacitor reaches a voltage high enough to kickstart the engine. Related: beam, call, capacitor, flower, solar, transistor |

Large solar flower Posted by: youk0so
Video duration: 20 seconds This flower uses two solar cells and a 10000uF capacitor to spin everytime the capacitor reaches a certain voltage, this being controlled by a circuit of transistors involving a voltage detector. Related: beam, capacitor, cell, flower, solar, transistor |
