Relaxing Beautiful Instrumental Music in STEREO - Part 1 Posted by: vwestlife
Video duration: 455 seconds *** ((( STEREO ))) *** If you're worn-out and stressed out at the end of a long day, I find this kind of music to be the perfect way to relax. Unfortunately it pretty much became extinct in the late 1980s. Here are some nice lush instrumental tracks from an LP record by "Raymond Lefèvre and his Orchestra". This is the first half of Side 1. Related: 1967, album, beautiful, easy, elevator, instrumental, lefevre, lefèvre, listening, lp, music, muzak, orchestra, raymond, record, vinyl |

Donkey Kong with rarely seen intro screen on Atari XEGS Posted by: vwestlife
Video duration: 210 seconds I didn't even think the Atari 8-bit computer version had the intro screen until someone else online mentioned it. There's a little trick to seeing it, which I explain in the video. Plus, this version is notoriously difficult, but you keep coming back for more because it's so fun to play. CAMBOD.MOD played through PC Speaker Posted by: vwestlife
Video duration: 195 seconds Who needs a Sound Blaster card!? The ordinary PC speaker can have surprisingly good quality when you do it right. Here is the infamous Amiga music module "CAMBOD.MOD" played by IPlay for DOS through the PC speaker output. Recorded via composite video capture from a real PC, not a "DOS Box" emulator. The music is based on the 1981 Kim Wilde song "Cambodia". Related: amiga, audio, blaster, cambod, cambod.mod, digital, dos, iplay, mod, module, music, pc, sound, speaker |

Games on my PS2 Posted by: vwestlife
Video duration: 297 seconds ...but probably not the "PS2" you're thinking of! This one is from 1989 or so... just pulled out of storage today. You can see the cobwebs on the screen. It still works -- sort of! Sorry for the distorted audio, I had the microphone level set too high. Activision Beamrider on Atari XE Game System Posted by: vwestlife

Vintage Panasonic clock radio - hi-fi AM audio Posted by: vwestlife
Video duration: 384 seconds An example of this old Panasonic RC-6035 clock radio's surprisingly crisp and clear audio on the AM band. There's a lot of static from my computer, but several stations still come through with very good quality. Radio manufacturers really started to cheapen out on their AM/FM tuner circuitry in the '80s, so you just can't find this kind of performance anymore. Related: am, audio, classic, clock, digital, display, flip, fm, hi-fi, panasonic, radio, rc-6035, rc6035, reception, transistor, vintage |

E.T. Phone Home! on Atari XE Game System Posted by: vwestlife
Video duration: 328 seconds Every Atari fan knows just how bad the 2600 version of "E.T." is, but the 8-bit computer version is completely different, with impressive smooth-scrolling graphics and complex gameplay -- too complex for me to figure out on-the-fly, but I gave it a try anyway.
