An animation of a v16 engine, 16 pistons at a 135 degree spread. 8 piston pairs, 4 on either side. This engine acts similar to a flatplane v8 and v12 in that piston pairs are located in the same bank of cylinders; only one bank is at TDC at any given time.
Firing order is not from any particular make or model... like there were ever a lot of different V16s made ;)

August 3rd 2008 at Pacific Raceways, group 4. A quick video of Eric Krause's #39 Porsche 968 racecar going down the front straight. The car has a stock power train except for: lightweight Fidanza flywheel, RS Barn headers, cone intake. Currently it uses the stock cat back exhaust + test pipe, which is why it's so quiet :)

August 3rd 2008 at Pacific Raceways, Group 4. A quick video of the #66 mustang racing down the front straight. Not sure what the setup is, but that thing is FAST. Sounds like it was pulling 8K revs or more too, very impressive!

An animation of a V4 engine, using a 90 degree flying pin design. Like a boxer 4, piston pairs are located on the same crank position, except at a 90 degree spread. The rear piston trails the front one by 90 degrees, thus piston pairs lay on different crank pins.
